Local Legends Luncheon

Twice a year we honor outstanding female high school seniors in the Atlanta area who have made significant contributions to our community, our nation and beyond. Each of the deserving recipients are awarded a $1,000 scholarship for college at our event called the Local Legends Luncheon. Not only are these young women given the funds for college but they also get the once in a lifetime opportunity to dine and talk with notable local "Legends" such as Civil Rights Icon Xernona Clayton, Actress Jasmine Guy, Singer-Song Writer Kandi Burruss, Chili, T-Boz, and Monica. Local Legends from the business community include Delta Airlines' Scarlett Pressley-Brown, Georgia Pacific's Charmaine Ward, Judge Penney Brown-Reynolds and News Anchor Monica Pearson.

The 2012 Local Legends Luncheon was held at Frank Ski's Restaurant and Lounge, located at 2110 Peachtree Rd, on Sunday, April 22nd. This year's honorable Legends were Mrs. Carolyn Young; who was honored for her tireless efforts in educating the youth and her philanthropist endeavors with husband, Ambassador Andrew Young, and award winning songstress, Keri Hilson. Lunch was prepared by Flemings of Dunwoody; supporters of the Local Legend Luncheon since it’s inception. Thank you to all our sponsors who continue to support our efforts in exposing children to their future!
