The 2011 Frank Ski Kids Foundation Planet Green Marine Biology Science Excursion will take place in Nassau Bahamas. A total of ten students will be selected to travel on our International Science Excursion to study the Marine Eco System in Nassau, Bahamas July 16th-23rd, 2011. 

The trip will include scuba lessons from Staurt Cove Divers and students will earn their PADI Open Water Dive Certification. The Excusion will also include a day trip to The Island School in Eleuthera. The Island School was founded in 1998 as a result of the Cape Eleuthera Marine Conservation Project.

Our contest this year started with 14-15yr old students writing an essay. The subject of the essay was: Massive Oil Spills, Nuclear Contamination, Pollution, Over Fishing & Climate Change are Killing Our Oceans. What are the long term effects on humanity if our Oceans are not protected? 

Students completed applications and essays online. Deadline for entries was Friday May 27th. The 20 finalists were announced on V-103FM Tuesday May 31st. The 20 finalists delivered their essays in speech form in front of a panel of judges at the Georgia Aquarium June 1st. The 10 winners were announced on V-103 Thursday morning June 2nd.
